A Day Out Portebello Road

As a Londoner, I find it strange that I never explore whats around this city, I love to travel all over the world, but yet I take whats close to home for granted. Over a recent weekend (which with shock horror I had nothing to do and free time on my hands), me an the hubby decided to go on a little excursion, and for the life of me I couldn't think where to go to!

You would expect more from me, but shamefully I had nothing, so I sent a tweet... and Portobello road came out as a suggestion. We packed out bags and made our merry way down.
It didn't really stay merry and actually ended up as a bit of a battle, I must say as we got a little lost, and found our selfs on a number of buses...going in the wrong direction *hangs head in shame*.
However all was made right once we had something to eat!
I must say Portobello Road is beautiful, vibrantly colourful, and full of life, but for me its a bit 'touristy' and 'sales-y', but thats probably what happens to area's that have a great story.
However, I did end up buying some great prints to hang up at home, as me and the hubby are a little bit obsessed with pics around the house, we're becoming happy hoarders.

  11. Looks like you had a really lovely day :) I live in such a beautiful area but because I live here I never go to the nearby attraction which I think is such a shame! I'm going to take a leaf out of your book and go visit some before I head back to uni :)
